Part 5: How to Use the Skin & Skin Submissions

How to Use the Skin

Step 1: Look for the directory in Windows Explorer where you installed Oligo Eg. C:\Program Files\Oligo

Step 2: Look for a sub folder called "Skins" under the folder in Step 1. Eg. C:\Program Files\Oligo\Skins

Step 3: Create a new sub folder under Skins for the skin and name it the skin name. Eg. C:\Program Files\Oligo\Skins\Arty

Step 4: Put your files into the new folder. These should include the data.ini file and your graphic files.

Step 5: Open the Oligo program and go to Menu -->Skins and select your skin name.

Eg.

Making Amendments
If you find that your alignment or arrangement of your buttons isn't good, open your data.ini file and make the necessary amendments.

Skin Design Support
If you get any errors, check that you have followed the instructions carefully first. Please go through this common errors list first:

1)Check your formatting in the data.ini file. making sure there are no spaces between values, the number of buttons correspond to the number in [ButtonInfo]
2)The numbering of the buttons are in sequence.
3)Your bitmap file is in the correct format. See designing buttons.
4)You have not changed the preset name of the buttons
5)You have all the necessary elements in [Special].

You can submit your skin to Oligo's Skin Library by clicking on "Submit Skin" on this page. We review all skins before posting them. There is no guarantee that your skin will be posted as it needs to be suitable for public and of good quality.
