How
do I upgrade to the latest version of RedBox and use data from my previous
version?
Step 1:
Download and install the latest version in a directory different to
your previous version. (You must not overwrite the previous version) Default
directory is C:\Program Files\RedBox Organizer x.x (where x.x is the version
number)
a. Once installed, open up the latest RedBox, create the same user
name and password as in your previous RedBox Organizer
b. Exit RedBox Organizer.
Step 2:
You need to copy your data files from the previous version to the new
by doing the following:
a. Exit the previous version of RedBox (This also includes RedBox
Background in your system tray).
b. Open up the latest RedBox, create a new user, the username should
be the same as the one from the previous version. Once the new user is
created, close the program (including the tray).
c. Open up Windows Explorer, go to the directory where you installed
the latest RedBox, you should see a directory named the same as the username
from step b, delete the directory.
d. Now go to the directory where you installed the previous version
of RedBox, there should also be a directory with the same name, copy this
directory and paste it under the newly installed RedBox directory.
e. Open the latest version of RedBox. Select your User name. You may
be prompted with a message to convert your files. Choose convert. RedBox
will then convert your previous data into the new format. If it doesn't
ask you to convert, it should then just open as normal.
f. If everything is working fine, then you can uninstall the previous
version and delete the old data folder.

There
is an error occurring during the installation process. What should I do?
Please stop and close all the running applications before installing RedBox
Organizer. If you still have problems installing, note down the installation
error and contact our technical
officers.

Second

RedBox Organizer can only import Text File and they must be in CSV (Comma
Separated) File Format. Most programs support exporting to .csv file types,
you can consult the help files of those programs that you wish to export.
Before importing/exporting,
please BACKUP your files. If anything goes wrong, you will not lose any
data.

guided by the Import Wizard.

What
is the function of the Globe section? Can you tell me more?
The Globe section is actually a time, date and distance calculator between
two places. Besides, you also can check the current time, date, population
and other useful information about a country, which are listed in the
RedBox Organizer | Options | Global section.
Is
there any way to eliminate the pictures that come up behind the address
book data?
Yes. Look in the RedBox installation directory. (Default is C:\Program
Files\RedBox Organizer x.x, where x.x is the version number) You will
see files 0.wmf, 1.wmf, 2.wmf, ... , 6.wmf. These are the background pictures.
If you delete
them, RedBox will default to gray background when restarted.
You may also customize them with your own pictures. The file formats must
be the same though. (You may do the same with the sound files: sound1.wav
... sound5.wav).
Newer versions
of RedBox: v2.1, 3.x, 4.x and 5.x comes with a picture "on/off" switch
at the top right hand corner of the address book data.

(default: c:\program files\RedBox Organizer 2.0).
b. If the user name is "example", you'll see a folder named "example".
You need to backup that directory or all the files in that directory.

When
I backup my data, why do I get an 'Access denied' error?
The message "Access has been denied" comes from the fact that you are

Is
RedBox Organizer a networkable program? How do I network RedBox?
How many users can be supported?
RedBox Organizer is a networkable program and it can support up to 5 users.
One limitation of RedBox Organizer is only one user can access to the
RedBox Organizer at a time. It does not support multi-user access.
To network RedBox, you will need to install the program on the server
computer or a computer that everyone has access to. For all the other
computers, create a shortcut to the RedBox program on the server. You
can then start to create new users and different people in the network
can access other people's calendar/data by logging in as that user.

Why
does the date always revert back to 1996?
Refer to question below.
How
do I change the default date ( Monday - 3 June 1996 ) used by the RedBox
Organizer to the current date?
The default date used by the RedBox Organizer is just a demonstration,
which teaches the users how to use the program. You should create a new
user instead of using the Example as the default user.
To create
a new user, click the "New User" button and key in the necessary
information. Please check it as your default user and click the "Start"
button to start using it.
The date
will automatically adjust to the current date when you start the program.

What
is the difference between Visual Day Planner and RedBox Organizer?
The major differences between Visual Day Planner and RedBox are: Visual
day planner is more for users who are not very time specific and just
want an overall view of all the tasks in either a month/day/week view.
Visual Day Planner also supports networking, even up to 100 users. There
is noticeably less features such as phone numbers, address book as it
is not a PIM but more of a desktop calendar. RedBox supports only up to
5 users in a network and offers more features than Visual Day Planner
because it is more personalized and more time specific like the options
for you to enter your meetings, events at a specific time. There are expenses
recording, phone numbers and an address book to enter. RedBox is a Personal
Information Manager that you can use to plan all your day-to-day activities.

In the example,

select either one of the address books before you can make changes.

many fields can I have for my address book? How can I add more fields
later?
You can have up to 10 fields for an address book.
Once you

entries into an address book.
